A Career Built on Curiosity and Courage
Charisse’s path to sales was anything but traditional, and that’s what makes it inspiring. Originally an Accounting and Business major, she began her career interning with PwC before realizing auditing wasn’t the right fit. A chance interview with a Brazilian startup led her to sales, a field she had never considered, and it turned out to be the perfect match.
That opportunity sparked her passion for technology and client relationships, setting the stage for a dynamic career. After earning her Master’s in International Business while working full time in New York, Charisse joined Examity before its acquisition by Meazure Learning. That is where she discovered her love for the credentialing and assessment industry.
“Every experience along the way shaped who I am and led me to where I am now,” she says. “I wouldn’t change a thing.”
Embracing Change and Staying Grounded
In an industry that is always evolving, Charisse sees adaptability as one of her greatest strengths. “Change and lots of it has been my biggest challenge,” she shares. “This industry moves fast, and there is always something shifting. Over time, I’ve learned to adapt quickly, stay focused, and make the best out of situations that don’t always go as planned.”
For her, perseverance is not just a skill but a mindset. “Perseverance teaches you how to pivot, evolve, and stay true to who you are, even when things feel uncertain.”
Excited for What’s Next
Charisse is enthusiastic about the new innovations Kryterion’s product team is developing, from advanced reporting to AI tools and integrations that make the platform even more seamless.
“It’s exciting to see how fast we’re evolving and how much we’re focused on improving the client experience,” she says. “That forward-thinking mindset is what keeps Kryterion relevant and sets us apart.”
A Multifaceted Role
Many people don’t realize how dynamic enterprise sales can be. “You really have to think like an entrepreneur,” Charisse explains. “There is always another layer, another project, another problem to solve. It’s fast paced, challenging, and rewarding.”
Staying Motivated and Inspired
Charisse attributes much of her professional growth to her mentors, people who challenge, ground, and give honest feedback. But her biggest source of motivation is her daughter.
“As a single mom, my daughter pushes me to be my best every day,” she says. “I’m driven by growth. The idea of staying stagnant just doesn’t exist for me.”
Outside of Work
When she’s not connecting with clients or exploring new industry trends, Charisse loves to cook and bake, from black truffle chicken pasta to dark chocolate banana bread. “It’s my therapy,” she says. “It relaxes me and makes me happy.”
She’s also passionate about fashion and has modeled for jewelry brands, luxury hotels, and clothing lines. “I love helping friends find outfits that make them feel confident. It’s another way I get to be creative.”
Her favorite way to unwind after a busy day is working out. “It clears my head and helps me refocus. It’s as much mental as it is physical.”
