In this month’s spotlight, we’re heading across the pond to meet David McHardy, Kryterion’s Customer Success Manager based in London, England. As our EMEA liaison, David plays a pivotal role in supporting our international clients and ensuring their success with Kryterion’s solutions. His journey is marked by innovation, resilience, and a deep appreciation for both technology and teamwork.
On His Role and Career Path
“I am the EMEA Customer Success Manager, responsible for our relationships with clients and partners in the London region. Since graduating from University, I have worked in the technology and consulting sectors in customer success roles.”
On Driving Innovation
David played a key role in developing Kryterion’s groundbreaking dual camera proctoring solution in collaboration with AT*SQA.
“We had a tight deadline, and at the time, no one else in our industry had done it, so there was no blueprint to follow, and we had to develop everything from scratch.”
Today, this solution is available to all Kryterion clients—an example of how inventive thinking and close collaboration can set a new industry standard.
On Growth Through Challenges
Starting out as Kryterion’s only non-U.S. employee, David quickly learned to navigate solo.
“This meant I had to quickly develop a comprehensive knowledge of our platform, Webassessor, and our tools and processes. My problem-solving skills have improved dramatically.”
That independence helped sharpen his instincts and grow his confidence in navigating both client and internal needs.
On Embracing Innovation
David is energized by the growing role of AI in credentialing:
“Now, we’re finally seeing some useful AI tools rather than hype. I’ve particularly enjoyed using Google’s NotebookLM recently.”
As someone passionate about tech, he’s eager to continue leveraging innovations that make an impact for clients.
On Living Kryterion Values
David is deeply aligned with Kryterion’s customer-first mindset:
“If a client comes to us with a problem or a request for something new, our immediate response is to try to create a solution. We really don’t like saying no!”

“I love to work out, specifically Crossfit. The endorphin release after a tough workout and seeing gradual improvements over time inspires me to continue.”

“Bali, Indonesia. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit 40 countries, but one I keep returning to is Indonesia. The combination of culture, local cuisine, friendly people, and nature keeps drawing me back.”

“I recently watched Churchill at War on Netflix and highly recommend it. The documentary series seamlessly blends interviews from experts and veterans with archive footage from the time.”
